Happy Birthday: 21 Lessons I Have Learned by 21

IMG_4728

In case the title didn’t give it away already, it’s my 21st birthday! And while today is going to be filled with birthday wishes and time spent with loved ones, I wanted to share two looks with you guys as well as some very important lessons I have learned over the past 21 years.

P.S. I am aware that this photo shoot is extra, but honestly I couldn’t help myself. Be prepared for the many photos to come.

Look 1: Top: JCPenney Skirt: Ark & Co Shoes: Clark’s Necklace: borrowed from Mom 😉

As a kid, all you want to do is grow up. You want to be able to be out on your own, not have to listen to your parents, and be an “adult.” But as you get older, you start to realize everything that comes with being an adult. Most the time, I don’t even consider myself an adult. Because in my head an adult is supposed to have everything together, an adult is supposed to be going somewhere in life, they are supposed to have things figured out. Well according to that definition, I don’t feel like I’m an adult. But here I am, one year left in college, about to spend the summer living in New York City, working at the internship of my dreams. All of these things seemed so distant and, at times, even impossible about six months ago. Now it feels so real and sudden and so very, very scary. That’s another thing: adults don’t get scared.

Well forget what you thought you knew about being an adult. Because the truth is that adulthood is wonderful and amazing and scary and freeing and stressful and satisfying all at the same time! I know that I’m only just starting to learn these things, and some of the lessons I’m about to tell you are not just for you, they are for me as well. Because I am still learning. And I still have a ways to go.

Look 2: Top: Old Navy Skirt: Haute Monde Shoes: parker & sky

  1. Don’t worry about what other people think.
  2. Never apologize for being yourself.
  3. Be as “extra” as you want.
  4. It’s okay to treat yourself every once in a while.IMG_4937
  5. Friends come and go, but family is forever.
  6. Listen to your parents. They are right about some (most) things.
  7. Love yourself, because you are stuck with yourself.
  8. Never change who you are for a friendship, a relationship, or a job.IMG_4764
  9. Let go of grudges, they only hold you back.
  10. That being said, forgiveness and trust must be earned.
  11. Everything happens for a reason.
  12. But that doesn’t mean things will always make sense.IMG_5005
  13. Trust yourself, trust your parents, and above all else, trust in God.
  14. Not everyone has it all figured out. In fact, most don’t.
  15. It’s okay to feel a little lost and confused.
  16. But it’s also okay to ask for help.IMG_4784
  17. You deserve happiness.
  18. You are strong.
  19. That being said, strength is not taught, it is earned. So get back up and try again.
  20. Don’t give up on yourself or your dreams.
  21. Dreams do come true, but only if you work hard for them.IMG_4923

This list is not comprehensive, nor does it work for everyone. This is not a ‘one size fits all’ kind of thing. I just wanted to speak from my own personal experiences and offer a few words of courage to anyone out there who, like me, is still figuring it all out. You may not agree with everything on this list, and that’s okay. You do you. The important thing is that we all do what’s best for us.

But I feel like this post was worth sharing, if only for you to hear about my life experiences. I hope you all take something away from this post. Feel free to leave your thoughts or any lessons you want to add in the comments below! And don’t forget, although we may grow older, there’s still a child inside us all.

The next time you read a post from me, I’ll be posting it from New York City!

Until then,

Much love, Kendall

Today’s Look: Denim Shirt Dress + Quick Life Update

Hello guys! It’s been awhile, and a lot has changed in the past couple of weeks. I finished my junior year of college, moved out of my first apartment, got settled back home, and now I only have two weeks before I pack back up and head to New York. Suffice to say, my head is reeling and I apologize for the lack of posting. It’s been almost impossible to get the ground under my feet before its pulled out from underneath me again. I really appreciate your patience with me, and I really hope that patience continues. I believe in being transparent with you guys, and I just want to update you guys on a couple of changes that are coming to my blog (and my life) as well as a couple of kinks I’m still working out.

IMG_4287

Shirt Dress: Old Navy Purse: Anne Klein (TJ Maxx) Shoes: Rampage (TJ Maxx) Necklace: Old Navy

IMG_4156IMG_4305

First things first, this dress. I am so glad that the shirt dress trend is back! This dress is one of the most comfy things in my closet, and the chambray material is so versatile and stylish. You can literally style this dress in so many different ways. Whether you dress it up, like I did today, or dress it down for a casual day running around.

IMG_4219IMG_4286IMG_4232

Now’s the time for some transparency. I love this blog. I love sharing my love for photography, fashion, and beauty, as well as getting personal with you guys. Although this blog started out as a way for my friends and family back home to keep up with me while I was away at college, I feel like the intentions behind it have evolved a lot over the years. I truly do want this to become a blog that is focused solely on fashion, styling, and beauty, as well as my everyday life. However, I feel like given the following that I have, mostly friends and family, I am not able to fully deliver the content I want without losing interest/followers. As shallow as that sounds, you can’t really be a blogger without worrying about gaining a wider audience. And while I am trying to move past that, I am still struggling with trying to find a compromise regarding my content.

IMG_4284IMG_4189

So here’s what to expect on my blog over the next couple of weeks: changes, lots of changes. Hopefully for the better. I am turning 21 next, and the week after that I am heading to New York to intern for the summer with a fashion magazine. I don’t know how easy or hard taking pictures/blogging will be in the big city, especially with my busy schedule. On another note, I am hoping to revamp the look and overall aesthetic of my blog over the next couple weeks. More than anything I ask for prayers and patience with me as I attempt to navigate the ever changing world of blogging.

IMG_4259

I would really like to hear any feedback or comments you guys might have about my blog as well as any content you would be interested in seeing. Thank you guys so much for following me and for coming on this journey with me. I know it hasn’t been easy, but I love hearing from you guys. Your overwhelming love and support makes me smile.

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Love, Kendall

Today’s Look: Hello Spring + Conquering Fashion Fears

As you could probably tell by my last post, I am all about easy, breezy, and beautiful dresses this spring. (Did I just use the CoverGirl slogan to describe dresses? Maybe, but it’s accurate.) Last week, I shared eight dresses that would be perfect for Easter Sunday or a casual spring day. Well today, I am going to be showing you how I personally styled one of those dresses, and how doing so helped me to overcome some of my “fashion fears.”

IMG_3967IMG_4051

Dress: Old Navy (Unavailable Online) Denim Jacket: Old Navy (Unavailble Online) Shoes: Rampage (TJ Maxx) Purse: Nine West

IMG_4014IMG_4094IMG_3972

I used to never wear denim jackets. They were the kind of thing that I wore only if I had to, like with a dress that needed an extra layer. I guess somewhere in the back of my head I thought that denim jackets could never been stylish. But when I found this jacket at Old Navy, I was immediately drawn to it. It was such a reach for me because I never wear light wash denim, but now I can’t be seen without it. This is my new favorite top layer to just throw on over anything and everything. I’m very tempted to add patches and pins to this jacket, but I also like the idea of a plain jacket that will go with everything. What are your thoughts? Maybe I should just get another jacket to patch up! 😉

IMG_4064IMG_4117

I seriously love the midi trend. It makes me feel like a princess, and all I want to do it twirl. I know, cliche right? But it’s so true. I was initially hesitant to wear it, but after trying this dress on, I fell in love. It is so comfy and feminine and it just makes me feel like it’s spring time.

IMG_4127

As someone who has never been skinny, I’ve always been wary of the way clothing looks on my body. I followed rules like: don’t wear anything that hits your mid calf or it will cut you off and make you look short and stubby. Or don’t wear shoes that hit at your ankle…for the same reason. Basically, I had to follow every rule or I would end up looking “terrible.” But honestly, after a while, following the rules becomes too confining. And you never get to wear what you want. So I say screw the rules, wear what you want, and feel fabulous while doing so.

What are your fashion fears? What are you too self conscious to try? Because I guarantee you are capable of rocking it. All it takes some confidence and sass! And I don’t know about you, but I have enough of that to spare. So turn the world into your runway. 1…2…3…Let’s go!

8 Easter Dresses Under $50

Hey guys!

It’s that time of the year again. The time of the year when everyone is shopping for the perfect dress. No, I’m not talking about Prom (although that is right around the corner for most). I’m talking about Easter!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. For me, it is such a family celebration; going to church with your family, everyone dressed to the nines, and then eating a big dinner/lunch together. It’s always been a special day to me, and even though I won’t be able to join my family for Easter this year (darn you, work), I am here today to share some of my favorite Easter dress picks.

So if you are anything like me, and you put things off until the last minute. Or maybe you just like buying pretty dresses, because honestly who can ever have enough? This post is perfect for you. Plus, all of these dresses are under $50! Talk about a steal.

8 Easter Dresses Under $50

  1. Old Navy  2. Old Navy  3. Old Navy  4. Nordstrom Rack  5. Zara  6. JCPenney

7. JCPenney  8. Nordstrom Rack

When it comes to Easter dress shopping, I typically go for something with soft pastels and floral patterns, however if you are more on the bold side, there are some dresses in here for you too. The most important thing is picking a dress you know you are going to wear again. So without further ado, let’s talk about the dresses!

  1. Surprise, it’s a dress from Old Navy. In case you couldn’t tell or you didn’t know already, I work at Old Navy. I get a really good employee discount, but I actually really like their clothing and am constantly buying new things (RIP paycheck). So I own this dress, because as soon as I saw it on the rack I fell in love. I have been so obsessed with the midi length trend going on lately. At first I was apprehensive to try it, because I thought it would make me look short and stubby, but it is actually so flattering. This dress is so perfect because you can wear it with some nude heels and a bold lip for Easter and then style it with a denim jacket and flats for a more casual day (psst I am actually styling this dress in my blog post for next week 😉 )
  2. This dress is from Old Navy as well, and it is on my wish list. Again, that midi length gets me every time. Plus that off the shoulder detail is so effortless and feminine. For Easter, I would suggest a statement wedge in red or green and a delicate necklace or choker. And if you wanted to throw it on to run errands, I would wear it with some all white sneakers, a cargo jacket, and a messy ponytail. Maybe, I will eventually add this dress to my closet, but for now I will just think of all the possibilities.
  3. You can never go wrong with a little white dress, especially for Easter. I also own this dress, but in the burgundy color. I am in love with these sleeves! The little crochet inserts are such a beautiful touch, to an other wise simple dress. This look can go one of two ways for Easter. Either you can play up the simple side with all nude and white accessories. Or you can add pops of color through shoes, a clutch, or statement earrings. I think blue or red would be great statement colors, just not together unless you want to look like the Fourth of July 🙂
  4. Yet another off the shoulder dress. Somebody stop me. Just kidding, please don’t. Anyways, this dress really speaks for itself. The silhouette is so effortless in an incredibly flattering way. The print is in two contrasting colors, but it really works because the blush pink and baby blue are so muted. To me, this dress just screams spring time. Wear it on Easter with accessories in similar color tones or wear it to lunch with sandals and statement earrings.
  5. Now this dress is not for the faint of heart, but I love it. The bold magenta pink really sets you apart from the crowd, and although the overall look of the dress is really simple, it helps allow the back of the dress the take the spotlight. This dress is gorgeous. And the over sized tie at the top, gives it the right amount of drama. Wear it on Easter Sunday with some open toed heels and pearl jewelry, or wear it for a night out with some killer booties and a smoky eye.
  6. When I look at this dress, the first word that comes to my mind is “sweet.” I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but this dress gives me “sweet, country girl vibes” but in the best way. I love this peachy-pink color, and the handkerchief hemline creates a flowy silhouette that is perfect for your inner bohemian. I would wear it on Easter with some strappy heels and gold accessories, or on a hot summer day with sandals and a high bun.
  7. I know I said that Easter is a time to wear pastels, but this next dress has got me feeling some type of way. I don’t even know how to describe this color, but honestly, you can never go wrong with an A-line skirt. Plus that little lace detail along the hem adds the perfect touch to a solid colored dress. Because of the bright color, I would pair it with all white or nude accessories. And if you happen to be going to a wedding this spring/summer, let this dress be your go-to!
  8. Finally, the last dress. Am I the only one getting Coachella vibes from this dress? Just me? Cool. Anyways, this dress is perfect if you are looking to release your inner flower child. Bonus points, it has a cold shoulder and slit in the skirt! Pair it with wedges and accessories in that powder blue color. Or, if you are really feeling daring, wear it with platforms sandals, body jewelry, and a flower crown. Coachella here we come!

So I know this post was a little different from the posts I normally do, but I hope you guys enjoyed it. Even more so, I hope you are feeling inspired to create your own unique looks for this Easter Weekend!

So which one was your favorite?Feel free to share your Easter outfits with me in the comments, and have a Happy Easter!

Today’s Look: Sweater Weather

IMG_3909IMG_3755

Sweater: borrowed from my Mom’s closet 😉 Jeans: Old Navy Purse: BCBG Max Azria Boots: Steve Madden (on sale for $50!)

Hey guys! Guess what. It’s officially SPRING! I hope you are as excited as I am. I’m just so excited for the warmer weather, fresh flowers blooming, feminine silhouettes, pretty pastels, and floral prints everywhere! Too bad that’s not happening just yet. At least where I am it isn’t. Every time that is seems like we get a glimpse of spring, winter comes back and surprises us. If you are lucky enough to enjoy that spring weather already, then I am highly jealous.

When I was shooting this look, it was actually my Spring Break, but the weather was definitely the opposite. Sadly, I couldn’t shoot the look that I had planned. So at the last minute, I threw together this off the shoulder sweater look.

IMG_3901IMG_3777

I have been obsessed with the off the shoulder trend from the beginning. I love that it can be worn and styled in every season. It is incredibly flattering, especially when paired with a choker or a statement necklace. And it automatically adds a level of class to any look. There’s just something about an exposed shoulder and collarbone that is so feminine and delicate.

IMG_3955IMG_3805

Yet another obsession, are these boots from one of my favorite brands, Steve Madden! I had been wanting over the knee boots since the first time I saw them, and for Christmas I finally got my hands on them. They are absolutely beautiful and if you are looking to get yourself a pair, they are having a huge sale on their site and you can snag these babies for more than half off (only $50!)

IMG_3825IMG_3796

Anyways, if it’s feeling like spring wherever you guys are, I hope that you are out there enjoying it. I can’t wait until I can break out the pastels and floral dresses, but for now I guess I will stick with the jackets, sweaters, and boots. Let’s pray for warmer weather, shall we?

Spring Break at Six Flags

Hey guys, and Happy Spring Break!

If you have been keeping up with my Instagram, then you knew this one was coming. Last weekend, my family and I went on a weekend getaway to Dallas, Texas. There we enjoyed two Texas claims to fame: Six Flags and In-N-Out Burger! Needless to say, we had a blast.

Photo Mar 12, 4 09 55 PMIMG_2528IMG_2573

Denim Jacket: Old Navy  Tank Top: TJ Maxx  Shoes: Adidas  Crop Leggings: Old Navy

I was really inspired by the whole “athleisure” trend when I put this outfit together. The best thing about this trend is that it allows you to look cute and put together while maintaining a very high level of comfort.

Because I knew I would be riding rides all day, I chose these crop leggings from Old Navy with mesh paneling along the thighs. I love this look because it breaks up the black material of the leggings and makes your legs look great. Plus it’s a little flirty. 😉

Photo Mar 11, 12 54 26 PMIMG_2549IMG_2560

Although we were only in the park for a day, the weather ranged from a cool morning, a hot and sticky afternoon, a rainy evening, and a chilly night. In order to prepare and dress for this crazy weather, I packed this denim jacket that has been on repeat since the first day I bought it. The wash and slight distressing makes this jacket incredibly versatile and fun. And of course, because I knew I would be doing a lot of walking, I wore my favorite shoes: my Adidas superstars. I swear by these shoes. They are so comfortable and they go with everything. If you don’t have these in your closet, you need to!

I also made sure to put two baseball hats in my purse before we left the hotel that day. I knew that if it ended up raining I would want to throw on a hat to keep my hair and makeup looking somewhat decent. And it’s a good thing I brought two, because my mom ended up wearing the other one! I’ve been loving the baseball hat trend because it’s so easy and helpful when I need to cover up my greasy or unkempt hair before going to class or running errands.

IMG_2546Photo Mar 11, 5 49 10 PMPhoto Mar 11, 2 29 03 PM

Over all, we had a great time at Six Flags, and it was the perfect way to bring our family together before we all go our separate ways again. Plus, because the weather was so crazy, we hardly waited in line for more than 10-15 minutes! And shopping at the outlet mall and eating at In-N-Out Burger was the perfect way to finish off our mini vacation. What could be better than shopping and burgers?

IMG_2541

What did you do over Spring Break? Are you more of a beach or ski resort kind of person? Whatever it was you did, whether you traveled the world or hardly left the couch, I hope you had a great time and enjoyed the much needed relaxation.

Now let’s finish strong!

Love, Kendall

Today’s Look: Casual Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!

I know it’s been a while, and I really appreciate you guys being patient with me. I’m finally getting back into the swing of things after taking some time to myself due to some things going on in my personal life.

But enough about that, let’s get to today’s outfit.

img_3637

Shirt: Old Navy  Jeans: Old Navy  Purse: Steve Madden (old)  Shoes: Adidas  Sunglasses: Old Navy

This Valentine’s Day, I am single (boo hoo). But that means 1) I get to spend Valentine’s Galentine’s Day with the people I truly care about, my friends and 2) I get to treat myself to all of that half priced chocolate tomorrow!

img_3448img_3492

I saw this shirt at Old Navy the other day and I knew that I just had to have it. I love the playful graphic and the pop of pink against the white shirt. It really says it all, don’t you think? Plus it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day shirt, if you know what I mean. 😉

img_3675img_3662

I am obsessed with these sunglasses. Then again, I’m obsessed with any sunglasses. They are one of the things I can never say no to buying. Especially when they are this cute (and this cheap!) Plus they remind me of that Frank Sinatra song.

“Looking at the world through rose colored glasses. Everything is rosy.”

img_3610

Since I’m not really doing anything this Valentine’s Day, this outfit is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday while still being comfortable for a day full of classes. Or going out with friends to celebrate Taco Tuesday. Funny how they both fell on the same day this year. Maybe it’s a sign…

img_3513

Whatever it is you are doing this Valentine’s Day, I hope you spend the day holding your loved ones a little closer and maybe even spoiling them a bit. Just do me a favor and try not to be bitter, even if you don’t have a sweetheart to celebrate with. Love is all around us, so love each other and most importantly, love yourself. <3

See you guys next time!

NYC Packing Essentials + Quick Life Update

img_2470

I am currently writing this post from an airplane, mid-flight, on my way to New York City. How crazy is that?

Okay, well maybe for you it isn’t that crazy, but for me it’s about as crazy as it gets.

Here’s a secret: before 6 am this morning, I’d never been on a plane before. I know right? Shocker. But by the time this post goes live, I’ll practically be a pro!

Anyways, I apologize for the lack of posting as of late. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Midterms, school activities, my new position at my job, and getting ready for this trip have all been kicking my butt. I promise that I’ll make it up to you guys with a bunch of posts about New York when I get back. 🙂

So here I am, on a flight with 20 or so Apparel Merchandising/Design students and two professors on our way to the Big Apple to meet with, interview, and make connections with alumni and other people working in the industry. Although I should probably be catching some Z’s right now, considering I got about 4 hours of sleep last night, I just can’t help but be too excited to even think about sleeping. Also, way to go me for starting to pack at 9 pm last night (S/O to my mom for coming to my rescue and helping out!) I’ll do my best to link everything that I packed either below or in future blog posts.

BTW the dress code for the next 5 days is business casual, but of course I want to show off my own personal style as well.

SIDE NOTE: DO NOT JUDGE ME FOR PACKING SO MUCH. IT’S JUST WHO I AM AND I CAN’T HELP IT.

Here’s a list of some of the things I packed as well as why I packed it and/or how I plan to style it!

Purse –

  • I got this great tote purse in the olive color at Old Navy right before my trip. It is spacious enough to hold my laptop and portfolio as well as books for reading on the flight and various other things. Plus, it looks a lot like a Longchamp Tote for the fraction of the price!
  • Inside my purse I have my laptop (duh) and some books to read on my flight or during my lay over in Dallas. I brought GirlBoss by Sofia Amoruso, founder and CEO of NastyGal clothing. It is honestly one of my favorite books at the moment; so inspiring and motivational. I also packed An Abundance of Katherine’s by John Green in case I needed a good love story pick me up. And who doesn’t love John Green?
  • Of course I have some makeup in my purse in case I need any last minute touch ups after the flight or a bite to eat. I have it all in this adorable little double sided zipper pouch that I found at Target. For some weird reason I have this obsession with little pouches. I guess you can never have too many right?
  • Phone, wallet, keys, boarding pass, and plane ticket (for obvious reasons).

Carry-on –

  • First off, I found this amazing carry-on at Ross that I have quickly become obsessed with. It’s by Adrienne Vittadini and it’s basically what I would look like if I were a bag. Sadly, I can’t link it because it’s no longer available online.
  • In my carry-on I have a spare outfit (for an interview I have later this afternoon I might add). It’s this adorable blouse and these black pants with faux leather on the sides. I’m wearing it with a pair of black lace up flats that I bought forever ago at, who would have guessed it, Old Navy. Here’s a link to a similar pair.
  • I also packed my DSLR camera, because how else would I take pictures for you guys?
  • Then of course I have my makeup bag and toiletries and PJs. So boring, I know.

Suitcase –

  • Surprise, surprise, your girl went shopping before the trip and while I was at JCPenney’s I fell absolutely in love with this black leather pencil skirt. Because who doesn’t need some leather in their wardrobe 😉
  • I also packed this super cute fall floral dress (pictured above) that you might have seen on my Instagram if you follow me (if not, it’s kendallshea22….shameless plug). I love it so much because it is so comfy and flowy but it still looks nice. And those colors are so gorgeous together.
  • Finally, I snagged one of those button front denim skirts that have been all the rage lately. This one was from Old Navy but it was on clearance so it’s not sold online anymore 🙁
  • Super pumped to wear and accessorize my suede skirt too. Suede has been the material of the season, and I can’t wait to wear this one out for the night with tights and tall boots.

Well, that really about it. I would hate to spoil everything for you guys in just one post. I so excited to finally be going to the Big City. It’s something I’ve been waiting for and dreaming about for years. Until next time, wish me luck and keep up with the madness on my Instagram, because you just know I’m going to be taking and posting pictures like crazy!

Love, Kendall

Today’s Look: Goodbye Summer

Well guys, it’s finally here. The season of crisp air, blanket scarves, bonfires, sweaters, football, Halloween, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes is upon us. And I, for one, could not be more ready. As of yesterday, it is officially fall!

img_1339

Shirt: JCPenney’s  Shorts: Old Navy  Booties: old  Purse: Steve Madden

So today, in honor of the last day of summer and the beginning of fall, I am sharing a look that (in my opinion) highlights the best of both seasons.

img_1335img_1341img_1375img_1363

I don’t know what the weather is like where you guys are from, but here in Oklahoma it does not feel like fall yet. Temperatures are still in the high 80’s and 90’s and I’m getting really sick of this heat.

In an effort to stay cool, while still preparing for fall fashion, I paired these orange printed shorts with a white peasant blouse and cognac ankle booties. One of my favorite style tricks for this time of the year is to pair summery outfits with cute ankle booties. It creates a more grounded look with a fall vibe, while still staying cool in dresses, skirts, or shorts.

img_1431img_1501img_1516img_1605img_1612

One of the reasons I love this outfit is because of the color! And that’s not just because these shorts are a great addition to a game day outfit (Go Pokes!) It’s because these shorts are so unique. I just love the pattern and the brightness of the colors. Every outfit needs a standout piece, and these shorts are the ticket!

This purse has been one of my summer staples, and I’m sure it will be something I carry with me into the fall as well. For some reason, I am drawn to browns, blacks, and whites together. I think it might have to do with the contrast of that color combination. But in all seriousness, this is a combo yowill see me wear time and time again.

img_1613img_1622img_1657

As excited as I am about fall (I mean I love Pumpkin Spiced Lattes as much as the next girl), I going to miss the summer. Wow, I can’t believe I just said that. I mean, I’m not going to miss the constant sweating, or the sunburns, or the endless heat. But I am going to miss the beach, and swimming, and late nights, and snow-cone dates, and baseball games. On the bright side, one great season filled with memories is being replaced by another great season to create memories with. (Was that too sappy?  Eh, I don’t really care.)

Enjoy your fall while it lasts, guys!

Love, Kendall

On The Campus: Hats Off

Hi guys! I know this post is about a week late, but it’s just been one of those weeks. I would say “if you’re in college, you know what I mean” but I’m pretty sure everyone has crazy busy weeks.

Anyways! Today, I am introducing a new series on the blog! This new series is based on the final project I created for my Photography class last semester. For our final project we had to create a series of photographs in the style of a famous photographer. I chose the late Bill Cunningham, the famous street style photographer for the New York Times who passed away earlier this year. If you have never heard of Bill Cunningham, or never seen his work, please look him up. His candid photos of people walking around New York were truly revolutionary at the time, and helped the fashion industry identify street style trends. And in the spirit of his work, I walked around my own campus and photographed the many trends I see among college students. So without further ado, here is the first On The Campus spread featuring the many hats that college students wear.

final-project-spread

I’m really excited to be able to share this new series with you guys. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great weekend!

Love, Kendall
